This is the filmmakers world

It was so cold at dawn that the conditions would have made any cold-weather trained SEAL hesitant to venture out . Maria, our champion rower was as hardy and brave as could be, never complaining even as she lost feeling in her hands. When dawn came over the Chesapeake it was a glorious, warming and welcome sight to all.
